June 24 Walking with Bartram – Appletree Campground to Nantahala River

Join us for another Walking with Bartram series hike. We’re getting closer to completing the full Bartram Trail and then we’re planning on doing it again!
This month we’ll be starting at Appletree Campground and walking a little over five miles to Piercy Creek and then 1.5 miles down the Piercy Creek trail to Wayah Road. It’s a moderate and beautiful hike, with approximately 800 feet of elevation gain. Participants will have to wade the Nantahala River at the end, which is a fairly shallow crossing at this point.
We’ll meet at the Piercy Creek trail head at 9AM to set the shuttle. RSVP for directions and more details.
