February 24th, 2023 Walking With Bartram Section 5 – Jones Gap to Hale Ridge Road

Join us for this Walking With Bartram section hike from Jones Gap to Hale Ridge Road. This is section 5, in North Carolina, of the Bartram Trail and does have quite a bit of elevation change over the 10.8 miles of trail. That said, this is a spectacular section with views from Jones Gap, Scaly Mountain, and Osage Overlook.
We’ll plan to meet at Hale Ridge Road at 9am and shuttle up to Jones Gap to start. These trailheads are much more accessible and the roads aren’t too rough.
More details to follow closer to this date once we have all our RSVPs in.
Newcomers are welcome to join us. All you need to bring is water, lunch, clothing appropriate for this season, and your sense of humor and wonder.
We have had great interest in these hikes and are working to create new hiking opportunities. If you are interested in leading a hike, let us know!
We’ll close the RSVPs at 15 hikers and likely set up a second hike of this section to accommodate everyone that wants to join.
