SPECIAL: Sky to Summit Race Trail Work Day

Next Wednesday October 12th, we will be having a special work day with Run Bum Tours to help get the Bartram Trail in Georgia in tip-top shape for the November 5th Sky to Summit Race. We will have two separate meeting places and work locations for crews, and will be working from Beegum Gap and Wilson Gap. More details to follow.

December 30th Walking With Bartram – Section 3: Warwoman Dell to Wilson Gap

***RSVP for this hike is closed as of 12/20. We’ve had great interest in these hikes, which is wonderful! But, logistics and planning for this can only support so many folks. We are working on how we can expand these hiking opportunities.

One more time to get out of the house and add a great hike to your holiday routine before the end of 2022!

Join us for section 3 of our Walking With Bartram hike series on December 30th, 2022. This month we are continuing from Warwoman Dell on to Wilson Gap. This section is roughly 8.5 miles with some respectable elevation changes. Depending on the weather, we may decide to approach this in reverse direction, from Wilson Gap to Warwoman Dell. Either way, we all win with winter views of Rabun Bald and other vistas that the bare trees afford us.

We will meet up at 9am at Waroman Dell (or Wilson Gap, final details will be announced closer to this hike date) to organize shuttles to the other trailhead and get started. We should wrap up by 4-5pm.

All Walking With Bartram hikes are open to anyone with a sense of humor and wonder. Just plan on bringing a lunch, water, and appropriate weather for the season. Hiking poles are not required, but you may appreciate them on the climbs and descents, especially following any snowfalls.

November 28th Walking With Bartram – Sandy Ford to Warwoman Dell

Join us for the second section of our Walking With Bartram hike series. On Monday, November 28th, we’ll start at the Sandy Ford trailhead and wind our way to Warwoman Dell. This section is just over 9 miles with some moderate ups and downs. This is your golden opportunity to burn off the rest of all the great food calories you enjoyed over the holiday weekend!

We’ll meet at 9:00 am at Warwoman Dell to organize our shuttle cars to the start point.

Newcomers are welcome to join us. All you need to bring is water, lunch, clothing appropriate for this season, and your sense of humor and wonder.

UPDATE as of 10/25 – Due to overwhelming interest in this hike, the event is now full and RSVP is closed.

Join us for a new round of our Walking with Bartram series hike. We’re starting all over again in North Georgia, at Russell Bridge/HWY 28 at the South Carolina state line. We’ll work our way through this first section to Sandy Ford Gap.

This 9.5 mile section will take us along sections of the Chattooga River.

We’ll meet at the Sandy Ford Gap/Road trail head at 9AM to get shuttle cars ready.
