Join us on Saturday, April 13th, for our Second Saturday Trail Workday!
This week we are looking for some more chainsaw certified sawyers that can help us clear some blowdowns.
Let us meet at the Hickory Knoll TH at 9:00. We will split into two groups- one to do Double Top to Fishhawk and back down to Buckeye, the other from Double Top back to Hickory Knoll.
The Hickory Knoll crew will hitch rides with the Fishawk group and both crews will work their way up the Buckeye Spur to Double Top. From there the crews will split, one working towards Jones Gap as far as Fishhawk, the other down to Hickory Knoll TH. The Fishhawk crew will be a saw team with lopping and tread work if possible. Hickory Knoll crew will be primarily a lopping and tread-work crew.
If anyone has a GPS unit and is interested in in helping build a database of trail maintenance issues/resolutions, please bring your GPS.
Please bring work gloves, good boots, plenty of water, lunch, any meds you might need and esprit de corps.
If you’re new to trail maintenance or just want to learn more, you can find more information here on our site.
Don’t be shy, we’ll provide everything you need to enjoy your day while making a huge impact for future enjoyment of the Bartram Trail. The hard work of our volunteers is what keeps the 110 miles of trails open and usable all year long.
Please RSVP so we can plan the work and tool requirements.
Thank you for your volunteerism!
