May 14: Nodding Trillium Garden Workday

Dr. Dan Pittillo’s impressive Nodding Trillium Garden is in need of clearing Hurricane Helene blowdowns and general maintenance. We encourage any and all certified sawyers to come out! We will have plenty of time for both work and leisure during this day. It will be an excellent time to learn more about the natural history of the land and Dr. Pittillo’s effort to create a beautiful garden. We will be meeting at the garden, however, we will carpool where we can!

Dr. Dan Pittillo was one of the founders of the Bartram Trail Society and one of the region’s most knowledgeable biologists. His nodding trillium garden is on an easement through Highlands Cashiers Land Trust, totally protected from human development.
