For this week’s workday, we will be meeting at 9:00 AM at Jone’s Gap.
Jones Gap can be reached from Franklin by US 64 east towards Highlands and turning right on Gold Mine Road. Follow Gold Mine to Dendy Orchard and turn left. Follow Dendy Orchard, which turns to gravel all the way to the top of the hill until you reach the Bartram Trail sign on the right.
We’ll be heading toward Hickory Knoll for some brushing and clearing blowdowns.
The forecast is looking clear and sunny with a high of 81°F. There is a chance of rain in the afternoon close to the time we will be finished. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of food and water for the day.
Please bring work gloves, good boots, plenty of water, lunch, any meds you might need and esprit de corps.
Don’t be shy, we’ll provide everything you need to enjoy your day while making a huge impact for future enjoyment of the Bartram Trail. The hard work of our volunteers is what keeps the 120+ miles of trails open and usable all year long.
Thank you for your volunteerism!
