December 12th Scaly Mountain Hike and Bascom Visit

Join us on December 12th for a lovely day exploring Highlands, NC and short(er) hike up to Scaly Mountain to take in the views! Afterwards, we’ll head over to The Bascom to take in more views of the wonderful Kinship Photography Exhibition currently on display. Following that, we may gather for a cold beverage and a bit to eat at the Ugly Dog Cafe in Highlands.
We’re planning to meet at the Hickory Nut Gap Rd parking area (just outside of Highlands) and side-trailhead for Scaly Mountain at 10am. The hike is a moderate ~3 miles round trip. We should be able to wrap up the hike around 2pm.
The exhibit at The Bascom will be on display through the first week of January, more information here if you wan to visit on your own.
We’ll send out additional information closer to the event to discuss carpooling options.
