On April 17th, our friend and BRBTC hike leader Eddi Minche will be leading a 9 mile hike near Tate City, GA. This route is not for the faint of heart and will include sections on old logging roads, the AT, the old AT, and the Deep Gap Trail. Since it’s easy to take a wrong turn on this trail, we will be limiting the group number to 12.
The elevation gain on this hike is a steep climb for the first 5 miles, then level for a couple miles, and then steep downhill for the last 2 miles. There will be a couple of stream crossings, including a crossing of the Tallulah river. We hope to see a lot of spring wildflowers, ramps, and cascades along the streams we will be following!
We’re meeting at the Valley Community Church, 2218 Tate City Rd, Clayton, GA 30525 at 9am. There will be a very short carpool/caravan to the trailhead. Hope to see you there!
Please RSVP below to help with planning for this hike, and if you would like to lead a hike in the future, let us know. For any other questions, directions and more details, feel free to reach out directly.
