April 9, Second Saturday Trail Workday

This Saturday we will be working from Cheoah Bald down to Winding Stairs Parking Area in the Nantahala Gorge. Please bring lunch, water, work gloves, good boots, esprit de corps, and we’ll have the rest. This is the northern terminus of the Bartram Trail and we will be working clearing blowdowns from the top to the bottom. We will meet at 9AM at the Winding Stairs BT parking area. There is no good location map on Google maps, but if you are coming from Franklin, pass the parking area for the BT at Beechertown and Duke Energy and turn right on 19 going towards NOC. The Winding Stairs parking area is approximately 1 mile down on your right, as soon as you turn on to Forest Service Road 422.
