DESCRIPTION:Join our Trail Coordinator\, Brent Martin\, from the Beechertown Parking Area to Cheoah Bald. \n\nThis is the make-up hike for May’s WWB cancellation due to rain.  Meet at the Duke Energy Beechertown trailhead at 9AM to shuttle up to within a mile from the Cheoah Bald summit. We’ll walk to the summit and back down to Beechertown for a total distance of 7.5 miles. This is the final section of the Walking with Bartram series! It’s a beautiful hike with great views\, interesting botanicals\, waterfalls\, and a few stream crossings.\n\n\nMeeting location: HERE\nPlease bring plenty of water\, lunch\, snacks\, and a sense of wonder.

Follow Gold Mine to Dendy Orchard and turn left. Follow Dendy Orchard\, which turns to gravel all the way to the top of the hill until you reach the Bartram Trail sign on the right. \nWe’ll be heading toward Hickory Knoll for some brushing and clearing blowdowns. \nThe forecast is looking clear and sunny with a high of 81°F. There is a chance of rain in the afternoon close to the time we will be finished. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of food and water for the day. \nPlease bring work gloves\, good boots\, plenty of water\, lunch\, any meds you might need and esprit de corps. \nDon’t be shy\, we’ll provide everything you need to enjoy your day while making a huge impact for future enjoyment of the Bartram Trail.
