SUMMARY:Mother's Day Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Mother’s Day event. Our own wildflower expert\, Faith Williams will take us on a tour of the remaining wildflowers in May. \nThis trail leads to Jones Knob via the Jones Gap Trail\, a short blue-blazed spur off the Bartram Trail\, starting just a half mile from the Jones Gap parking area. The summit offers 180-degree views to the west and of Whiterock Mountain to the north\, though small\, moss-covered trees obscure some views. We will follow the  Bartram Trail before taking the short spur to reach the summit. \nWe will then enjoy the view\, pop some bubbly\, and sample some charcuterie at Jone’s Knob. \nPurchase your ticket HERE

SUMMARY:Nature Journaling: Spotfin Art & Nature Gathering
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Spotfin Art and Nature Gathering on May 15th\, the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy will offer an excursion to the Bartram Trail. \nWhen: May 15th\, 2026 from 9am – 2pm \nWhere: The Bartram Trail: Wallace Branch to William’s Pulpit. This walk will be at a slow pace\, where we’ll be spending more time communing than hiking.  \nMeet first for a reception at the Cowee Arts and Heritage Center at 9am\, and then carpool to Wallace Branch. We will leave no later than 9:40am.  \nWhat: Sydney Kale is a phenomenologist\, writer\, and artist who works with plants. In this workshop\, we will explore different ways of communing with plants and responding through creation. The workshop will involve somatic walks\, writing practices\, and nature journaling. Materials will be supplied. \nPlease wear appropriate clothing and bring plenty of water\, food\, and anything else you may need. We look forward to hiking with you!
