DESCRIPTION:New to trail building? We’ve got you covered. Join us to learn trail-building basics with our trail coordinator\, Faith Williams. In addition to trail-building\, we will be pulling invasives and tilling soil for wildflowers. \nBackground on the Cowee Trail System behind the Cowee School Arts & Heritage Center: \nThe trail has primarily existed as a ropes course designed for team-building exercises for students from Western Carolina University. The current vision for this trail is to become a contemplative trail with invitations to stop and reflect. Before we get moving on this artistic idea\, we need to put down tread. This workday will consist of re-treading and clearing an old\, existing trail. \nPlease bring plenty of water\, warm layers\, lunch & snacks\, any medications you need\, and good spirit! \n
