DESCRIPTION:Our new-year’s hike will take us from Wallace Branch across the Trimont Ridge re-route to Lazy Hiker in downtown Franklin. \nIt will be about a 6 mile hike with moderate incline. \nMake sure to bring plenty of water & snacks\, any necessary medications\, lunch\, and your enthusiasm & wonder. We will meet in downtown Franklin and carpool to the Wallace Branch trailhead.

SUMMARY:Holden Cemetery Hike
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be taking a hike near Russell Bridge to Holden Cemetery in Rabun County\, Georgia. This cemetery primarily holds members of the Holden & Bynum families with headstones dating back to the 1850’s. The Holden family purchased the land in the mid-1800’s and pieces of their homestead are still in the area. \nBring plenty of layers (more than you think)\, water\, lunch & snacks\, any medication you may need\, and an exploratory spirit. \nWe will be in communications closer to date about carpooling.

SUMMARY:Slow Hikers Club
DESCRIPTION:Want to experience the Bartram at your own pace? Join us for a shorter hike on the trail where we take our time\, explore life along the trail\, and ask the important (ecological\, philosophical) questions. \nThis month we will be hiking from the trailhead up to a Forest Service road crossing and back down to the parking lot\, which is about 1.75 miles round trip. Children are welcome – just make sure you RSVP for everyone! \nWhat to expect: Moderate incline on the first half of the trail where we will see Ray Cove Falls and enter into another forest type. On the way back down there is a small stream crossing with stones to use. The ground can get pretty mushy. It will be cold – dress warmly! \nWhat to bring: plenty of water\, snacks\, extra layers for warmth\, proper trail gear (hiking poles? extra sturdy shoes?) & enthusiasm! \nIf you are having trouble signing up online and want to join\, refresh your page and try again. DESCRIPTION:Join us this month for a hike through one of our most popular sections.
